dettol ph balance

Olla everyone!

How are you today? Hope you are doing great Smile

Being a mother, I am always very concern about hygienic condition especially when my baby is around. Other than taking care and making sure almost everything is germ free for my baby, it is also very important for me to ensure that me myself are free from germs. Why?

Let me give you an example, lets say my baby is already in a hygienic condition and then I decided to hug her (like I always do) what if my body is not as clean as I wish it could be? What if someone cough in the lif on my way back from work and the nasty germs stuck on my clothes? This might increase the potential of my baby getting sick.. now, no one would want that right?

Went taking about killing germs, I bet many of us would automatically think of Dettol. Am I right? hahaha.. well, what can I say it is the renowned brand when it comes to providing a peace of mind dealing with bacteria and germs. I still remember that my granma used to mop our her floor with Dettol floor cleaner last time Smile with tongue out

Well, guess what? Dettol came out with a new pH balance shower gel that not only have all the other goodness of killing bacteria and germs but also formulated to have a healthy pH that greatly suitable for our skin. Do you know that many soaps & shower cream/gel out that in the market were actually alkaline?

So what's the big fuss over pH? Our skin is naturally designed to fight infection and environmental stresses and its ability to do so is affected by its pH level. The pH level of the skin refers to how acidic or alkaline it is. On a scale of 1-14, with 1 being the most acidic to 14 being the most alkaline, 7 is considered a neutral. Our skin has a thin, protective layer on its surface, referred to as the acid mantle. This acid mantle is made up of sebum (free fatty acids) excreted from the skin's sebaceous glands, which mixes with lactic and amino acids from sweat to create the skin's pH, which ideally should be slightly acidic - at about 4.0 – 6.0.

Many factors can interfere with the delicate balance of the skin's acid mantle, both externally and internally. As we age, our skin becomes more acidic in response to our lifestyle and our environment. Everything that comes in contact with our skin (products, smoking, air, water, sun, pollution) can contribute to the breaking down of the acid mantle, disrupting the skin's ability to protect itself.

A damaged acid mantle leads to a number of skin issues, such as over dry skin, dehydration, over oily skin, flaky skin, acne, sensitivity, etc. It would require another long post to detail all this. But incorrect pH products can contribute to acid mantle degradation, and increases in acne-causing bacteria on the skin.

Well, dont take my words for it, do check out this Demo Test Video to see it yourself on the pH balance test. Link :

If you can see here, the Dettol matches skin’s natural pH. While Brand X is alkaline – causes skin dryness, may lead to premature aging.

My personal favourite would be the Skincare (pink colour) range that come in a very nice delicate smell of rose. Not only I know that it helps to protect my skin from germs, it also help to nourish my skin while maintating the pH. My husband preferred the Original one, as he love the signature smell of Dettol.
