Baby Spa at Giggling Jellyfish Baby Spa

Apparently, spa is not only for adult! Now we have baby spa in town to cater babies… yippie yeay! Yesterday, I got the chance to bring my beloved baby Sofea to experience her first spa treatment. Obviously, I am very excited!

Baby spa is more than just a comforting experience, it is a groundbreaking developmental technique, which offers numerous physical and emotional benefits for neonates and young babies. Hydrotherapy (flotation and exercise in water) supports mental and physical development so essential to your baby’s ability to move with control, and act with purpose on land. The more your baby can use his/her brain and muscles, the stronger they will grow. At Baby Spa, your baby will find the freedom and space he/she needs to progress and, most importantly, have fun as they learn at their own pace.

Check out this beautiful pool. I was informed that this baby spa is available to be enjoyed by babies up to 3 years old toddler. It is also nice to know that the water are change daily to maintain cleanliness. The therapist assigned to baby Sofea on that day is Muna. She explained that the water temperature is controlled to be luke warm just nice for baby’s body temperature. I like how they input cute floats as well as colourful balls to aid baby’s stimulation process.

This is the private room in Giggling Jellyfish baby spa. Beautiful right? One the special feature of this room, apart from the privacy it offer is that parents able to jump in and join the fun during baby spa session. It is also good for muslim mummies who want to have some intimate moment with her baby. The lighting and the sound in the room is just sooooo pleasing to the soul.  In the room, there is also a relaxing chair if you decide to take a quick break in between..before continuing your session.

This cosy section section over here is the breastfeeding section. I like how they cater this as it makes breastfeeding mum live wayyy easier. Speaking from experience, Sofea is a small eater. She drinks for a short period and tend to get hungry fast plus also thanks to the structure of breastmilk which are way easier to digest. This room makes my personal experience better since I can just go to this room to full fill my baby’s “susu time” need. There you go, hope you get the overview of the shop’s layout.

This is Muna. She is the lady I mentioned earlier. She helps to take care of Sofea during the whole session.Stages of the spa for a baby not much different from the spa for adults, but everything are given to the portions and functions tailored to the needs of the baby. Baby Spa is also important to detect early abnormalities of the body because the baby cannot complain to his parents when the body feels pain or sprain. By doing a spa, the baby's body will be "improved" sense of relaxation as well as a convenient and good for the development of his soul. Generally, a spa for the infant consists of swimming, bathing, and massage.

Before the treatment started, baby’s temperature will be taken as per above picture. This is to ensure baby is not having fever. Babies who are having cold or cough also will not be encourage to proceed with baby spa. Please make sure that your baby is in healthy condition before you bring them to enjoy a spa treatment. I like how this baby spa use this type of device to capture baby’s temperature. I personally think that it is more hygienic compare to those other devices where you need to put under baby’s tongue and armpit.

Right after Sofea’s temperature is taken, Muna hold her and bring her around to make her comfortable with the new atmosphere while allowing some time for bonding. Then, after few minutes she took her to the exercise area to warm up baby’s body.

Check out Sofea’s picture below. She is giggling all the way during the exercise and warm up session.

Once done, Muna help to change Sofea’s diaper to the swimming diaper and dont worry about the sizes as it is adjustable on the side. I bring a green coloured baby’s swimwear and decide to bring it to baby spa as well. If you do have a baby’s swimwear you can bring it as well Smile  Then again it is non compulsory to do so.

When swimming, a baby will be trained motor movements due to foot and his body will be twitching, but will also prevent respiratory distress. While in the bath, the baby will do relaxation as most kids today have higher stress levels. Remember, when your baby is swimming or bathing, water used should not be too hot as it can make the peripheral blood vessels dilated which reduce blood flow to the heart.

Each of the five senses is a doorway to your baby’s mind. Your baby can hear your voice, feel your touch, smell your scent, and taste anything you put in his mouth. While baby’s vision may be one of the least developed senses at birth, visual input during the early months may have the most profound effect on baby’s developing nervous system. What exactly does this mean? Why is visual stimulation so important for a baby? How can you as a parent or caregiver best stimulate your newborn’s visual senses?

At birth, the nerve cells in baby’s brain are disorganized and not well connected. While baby grows, the brain receives input from all five senses. This input causes nerve cells to multiply and form a multitude of connections with other nerve cells. This is why visual stimulation is so crucial. For example, if a baby is kept blindfolded the visual center in his brain would never develop, the optic nerve would shrivel up, and baby would never develop vision. On the other hand, if you provide continuous visual input into baby’s eyes, the retina thrives, the optic nerve grows, and the visual part of baby’s brain thrives and develops by leaps and bounds.

Infant-development experts believe that the first years of a child's life are a prime time for learning, but sometimes it may be hard to think of new ways to stimulate your baby. Which is why bay spa session is great for your baby. It helps to trigger all his/her senses and will help to make your baby smarter!

While infant massage on relaxation in addition to providing benefits will also help improve digestion and facilitate blood circulation to the baby. Generally, the baby often experience digestive problems when breastfeeding. With this massage, digestive problems called colic or bloating because the colon will be resolved will work as well as digestion.

As for how much it cost, check out below. anyway currently they are having opening promotion, where when you buy 1 (swim + massage) you get free 2 more session. I found it super worth it.

  9. Assalamualaikum Sis... Nak tanya sikit, bila last Sis visit giggling ni? Spa ni dah closed-down & saya ialah one of the parents yang tengah tunggu diorang refund balance duit sebab saya dah bayar for 10 session & baru attended twice. Text diorang via email then dapat 1 reply je asking for acc number. Few chasers being sent after that diorang tak layan dah. Saya ada fon number one of the indian lady tu tapi bila call sekarang, 'not in service'! & if you notice, the website & fb link yang Sis publish tu pun dah unavailable. Any idea Sis boleh assist saya untuk issue ni is much appreciated! Terima lah kasih in advance...
