Assalamualaikum and Olla everyone!

Would you like to bring your family out for a nice weekend gateway? I have something very interesting to share today. Somewhere nice, somewhere exciting, not that far away (less travelling time yeay!) and most important of all, it offers great variety of activities and yummy food! Yes, I am talking about our neighbouring country – Singapore. Weeee!!

Honestly, my lil family have not been to Singapore for a weekend gateway and it has been on our “to do list” for a while now and we really can’t wait to make it come true. Like any other trips we had before, we always survey on where to stay, where to visit and what to eat. Hahaha yes, we are bunch of food lovers (including my toddler Sofea haha). Anyway, today I would like to share with you some ideas and hopefully it would be helpful if you are planning to visit Singapore too..

First off, where to stay? Singapore offers lots of amazing accommodation that suit any of your budgets. I would loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to stay at Village Hotel Katong. Look at the room, can imagine myself “lepaking” in the bath tub while chit chatting with hubby and Sofea running around the room hahaha

The normal rate for a night is around SGD 143.50 but if you plan ahead then you might save more and enjoy good bargains. I personally like the location as it is located in Bugis and near places like Little India and the famous Orchard Road where you get to enjoy shopping! Not to mention, it is only a 15-minute drive from the airport if you are travelling by plane.

If you’re planning to visit Resorts World Sentosa then I’ll suggest that you book a stay at Genting Hotel Jurong. The hotel provides free shuttle services to the resort and it has an interesting “hotel in a garden” theme that comes with roof gardens and sky terraces for those who appreciate a lil bit of green! I saw a good bargain of SGD 199 per room, so do check out their website for latest promos and discounts.

Well, there are also other options for accommodation such as One Farrer Hotel & Spa and W Singapore – Sentosa Cove and both of these offer pleasant stay as well.

In Singapore, there are plenty of activities to be enjoyed with your family too.. It would be a dream come true if I get to visit Singapore Zoo as I know my daughter would totally love the Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife experience! Here at the Zoo you get to do that while enjoying a buffet of western and local food. It would be really cool to have breakfast with the company of some friends from the jungle. Sooooo syiok right?

If you are the type that looks for an adrenaline-infused adventures, then you should try out the world’s tallest duelling roller coasters, Battlestar Galactica: Humans vs. Cylon at Universal Studios Singapore or visit the MegaZip Adventure.

Looks like so much fun right? One of the main attractions is the Meza Zip pipeline where you can “zip across” at a speed of 50km an hour across a 75 metres high and 450 metres zipline. I can so imagine myself screaming my lungs out haha..  Since, my girl is still a toddler, I may have to skip this one but worry not as it’ll be another reason to come back again!

You may also want to visit Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum to learn more about history and if you have children that love toys (which child does not? haha) then you can bring them to MINT Museum of Toys. If they love the sea as much as my baby Sofea then you can bring them to Port of Lost Wonder at Palawan Beach, Sentosa. Apart from having fun they get to learn at the same time! It’s like killing 2 birds with one stone if you ask me!

What?? Shopping? I hear you! Haha yes, nothing beats the fun of hunting down souvenirs for friends and family right? It is one of the best part of any vacation in my opinion. If you are looking for places to shop then do visit Shop Wonderland or Piedra Niegra and you will be spoiled for choice for sure! All you need to do is browse around and look for the perfect gifts for your loved ones.
