Official Launch of Indoor Wellness Programme by Nippon Paint Malaysia

Assalamualaikum and Olla everyone!

Today I learned about the importance of having good indoor air quality. I mean due to the recent haze, my family has tried our very best to spend most of our time indoors and through this event that I recently attended, it has only sparked my curiosity about my own indoor wellness.

Nippon Paint Malaysia has launched the Indoor Wellness Programme which also consists of the Indoor Wellness Survey and the Indoor Wellness Guideline. Through their Survey, which polled 511 respondents, Malaysian homeowners were assessed when it comes to the cleanliness of their living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. From there, they were then given an Indoor Wellness Score in the following categories: Healthy, Unhealthy and Very Unhealthy. The findings are indeed eye-opening. At the event, the results were unveiled. It turns out that 75% of respondents who live in urban areas have unhealthier homes. Also, more than 60% of respondents actually have poor indoor air quality at home. Gosh, we can do better than that right? I mean, having children at home, I didn't think much of this before. Personally, I do have 2 units of air purifier at home but this event also has allowed me to learn something new. I will share my learnings shortly.

If you’ve been reading my blog, then you know Nippon Paint has always been my number 1 choice when it comes to coating solutions. I painted my kid's room with Nippon Paint coatings, gave my cabinets a new life with a fresh coat, and in fact, my whole house is painted using only Nippon Paint coatings! What I like the most about the brand is that they produce coatings that are odourless, with an R&D team that is committed to bringing user-friendly products to the table for homeowners like me to easily makeover our spaces at home! Nippon Paint came up with a Child Wellness range in 2017, and I found this to be very thoughtful. Knowing that they have done all the hard work in providing the best for our families, I find that using their products give me some kind of assurance. Not to mention the quality of the paint is good too!

Now, back to the launch of the Indoor Wellness Program, Ms. Gladys (Group General Manager of Nippon Paint Malaysia) is indeed correct, she mentioned that wellness is not just for children, but it is also for all of us including the aging group and reminded us that we should all take better care of ourselves.  At the event, the Indoor Wellness Program was launched officially together with Dr. Amir Hamzah Abdul Latiff (President of Malaysian Society of Allergy and Immunology, or MSAI).

Alongside the launch of the Indoor Wellness Programme, the Indoor Wellness Guideline was also unveiled, a first of such guideline by MSAI. As part of the Indoor Wellness Guideline, you will get to learn to identify the common air pollutants at home and what kind of health issues it could cause as well as tips on how to take better care of our indoor wellness. Recommended tips that were shared were some practical reminders such as the frequency to vacuum our rooms in a week, what products we can best use to maintain healthy indoor air quality (i.e using natural / organic products for disinfectants). Guess what? We are advised to remove scented candles as they actually infuse our air with harmful chemicals. I am so glad I have been trying my best to only opt for natural air fresheners.

Not just that, I also learned that 88% of mothers didn’t think much about the walls when it is actually the biggest surface for germs at home! Some never even clean their walls ever. Anyway, if you would like to know more tips and info about the Indoor Wellness Programme, just head on over to www.nipponpaint.com.my/indoorwellness for more information!

I would like to thank all panellists including Dato' Dr Rajbans Singh (President of Malaysian Wellness Society) for sharing so much information today. Some of the key points shared is that we need to think about our health more holistically, not just our physical appearance, but also our mental health, our surroundings, those who are friends with, the environment we live in and also what we eat. After the event, I came home and quickly vacuum the whole house hahaha. I have always been trying my best to keep my home as clean as possible, but after the event, I realised just how important it is to provide a cleaner and healthier home for my family.

If you are looking for coating solutions, to paint any surface in your home or office, I would highly recommend for you to consider using Nippon Paint products. After all, there must be a reason why the brand won many awards including the Parenthood - Parent's Choice Award 2019, Best Company of the Year and New Product Innovation Leadership Award 2016 and many more. Plus, the choices for the coatings are endless, you can even opt for Virus Guard Range that comes with a technology that refreshes indoor air with its Anti-Formaldehyde with Active Carbon Technology. You can check out Nippon Paint website for more details over all the other products as well.

Ending this post with a selfie because that is what bloggers do best, LOL I am glad to be on this journey being able to attend informative event like this and to have this channel where I can share my experience with you. Hopefully you will find it informative and let's do our best to give the best to our family.

Till next blogpost, don’t forget to take it easy and smile!
