Baby Shower Party

Mar 31, 2014

Olla everyone!

Today, I would like to write about an important event that have a special spot in my heart. I am going to write about my baby shower as well as kenduri doa selamat. Honestly, my husband was against the baby shower idea and he thought that is unnecessary and “mengada” and it is not our culture to do so.

Being an “ambitious” wife (you may replace it with degil + mengada) I did not easily give up. I tried convincing him ever since when I am 3 months pregnant. Imagine berapa lama aku plan n to get approval from him? After numerous effort buat air, urut kepala, cakap manja, cakap mengada and all the other “pujuk” tactics, he finally give in.

I told him, I just wanted to share this special moment with my close kawan2 who are there supporting me when I am down.. I want to share happiness them. Then lepas dapat green light, apa lagi??

Quickly inform The Butterfly gang about the good news! To my uttermost pleasant surprise, Tammy volunteered to organise my baby shower. I am beyond high! She da la the queen of party and she want to organise my party? Is this really happening??? Like a dream come true.

So what happened was, my husband gave like a budget for me (we are not kaya people so we have to set aside budget) and Tammy did a splendid job stretching the budget and I have a feeling that the whole party cost double than what the budget we gave her.

Gosh.. I don’t know how to balas budi dah ni…

The whole event was a surprise, Tammy just ask for colour preference as theme and my wish list (I put up at pintrest) then she ask for my guest list. (sorry that I cant afford to invite everyone T.T ). That are the only 2  things, I got to be involved and that’s the only thing I happened to know about the baby shower. Other than that and all the other details, all follow up and all the crazy stuff happening behind the scene was handled by Tammy. I don’t even know where is the location of the party up till the last minute.

I am truly blessed to have her as my friend to the point of I don’t even know how to repay back her kindness. I mean it takes up a lot of energy, time and money to organise an event and she is kind enough to help to do it. Dah la I know her bz schedule memang no time punya, she pulak help me like this.

Check out the Baby Shower invite that designed by Tammy. Cantik tak?? I only have the censored version, she gave me this invite n blocked the venue part since it is supposed to be a surprise.

Day after day, I waited patient and excitedly for the exact day to come. Finally the day arrived and I woke up super early to put on make up, gosok baju and get ready. Felt like a princess preparing for a ball.(PERASAN NYER)

On that day, I was send by my hubby and bro to the venue, my husband did not join the session as he have other things to settle and he is sporting enough to let me enjoy a girly session with my kawan2. My bro is around to teman me plus most of my kawan2 memang kenal my bro and my bro help to take picture as well.

I was hand held to enter the venue, check out the video below! The baby shower was held at POSH Nail Spa! Weeehoooo!

The ladies did an awesome job keeping the secret up to the last minute. Being an excited n tak reti sabar girl, I tried asking my kawan2 where is the location of the event. I tried asking coco, poi yee and few others but it does not work. They do not fall for my trick.. hahaha… Actually few days before the event Caro n Ayna almost bocor rahsia.. haha.. 1 day before event pun Tammy da nak hampir bocor it happened? Biar lah rahsia.. too long to cerita here.

As I walk in, I am sooooo freaking happy! How can I not be happy? My awesome kawan2 are there and the setup is just super pretty. Kudos to Ask Joey for being the party planner. So cantik the ruffle cake kan?? The setup was beyond my imagination.

This cute setup here is one of my most favourite deco of the party. I had it in my wishlist and it comes true!! Great thanks to Tammy’s mum who helped to make it happen. She is the one who do it. So cantik right? Got cute2 romper which is a message note and it is so sweet to keep as memories.

On that day, we had so much fun. All the ladies lepaking while getting their pedicure done. Tammy arranged for me to be pampered and enjoy the pampering package by Posh Nail Spa. I have been to Posh Nail Spa during The Butterfly Project spa party. The owner of the spa Serene is a very nice lady and all her staff are super friendly. I personally love their BIG and comfy seat and their massage style. Menang syiok lah. (Tammy even arranged to use Magic Wand from Lush as our foot soak! The moment I detect the yummy smell of the foot soak, I automatically knew it is LUSH!! Omg pengsan..) My friend Coco is a bride to be and she decide to sign for their bridal package on that day as well. Yes, Posh Nail Spa do have bridal package, you can check out their fb if you want to know more details.

One of the highlight of the day was the baby poop game. We were given with few pampers and we need to guess what type of poop in the pampers. Don’t worry as much as how convincing it looks, it is not real poop. Hahaha.. It is actually crushed chocolate. Winners are Deiseree, Alice and Caroline. Ini semua confirm sweet tooth ni. And yes, Tammy prepared the game as well.

Arigato to JOHNSON'S® Baby for being kind enough to sponsor the goodie bag for all the guest. Each one of my kawan2 goes home with the whole range of JOHNSON'S® Baby Bed Time. Do you know that Johnson's® has created a nightly routine that is proven to help your baby fall asleep easier and sleep through the night better. Before bed, treat your baby to a warm bath using Johnson's® Bedtime Bath®, then gently massage skin with Johnson's Bedtime Lotion®.

Since it is soo gentle and delicate obviously it can use by adult as well. I hope all of my guest enjoy the product and have a great sleep at night by using this range.

Before we end the party, we had present opening session, thank you so much everyone for the presents. It helps us a lot. Like seriously, felt really touched by all your kind thoughts put into each of the present.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TAMMY for organising such a fun, memorable and such an awesome baby shower. It is beyond my expectation and truly grateful for all your hard work. I don’t know how to repay all your time and effort that you have poured into making this party a success. To Ayna, Caro and Nala, thank you for helping around during the party as well. Yes I noticed and really thankful! HUGS!!

P/s: I am going to write and share (soon) about kenduri doa selamat that we held on 22 March 2014. We are really thankful to our creator for giving us a chance to felt this amount of happiness and for granting and blessing us with a child. It is a very simple and intimate session where most of our family members come together and say prayers together. Apart from being happy for our soon to be born daughter, we also like remember our family members who have passed away. Which is why we combined our doa selamat with tahlil. We tried our very best to appreciate and thank everyone who have been supporting and loving us all the way. We are not perfect but we ensure that we will try to be a better person each day.

Part 3 – Second Trimester (Temptation of baby preparations & Development)

Mar 26, 2014

Olla ladies!

As promised, today I would like to continue my Pregnancy journey post. This is Part 3, if you would like to check out part 1 and part 2, do scroll down as I already linked it all. Hope it helps. For this Part 3 I am going to focus more on activity I did during second trimester which start from week 13 -27. During the early stages of pregnancy, I downloaded lots of pregnancy app in my phone. There are so many apps out there some were are free and some you need to pay. I downloaded the free ones and find it very useful. Since there are so many out there, here I share with you some of the apps that worth downloading in my opinion:

1) Baby Center

2) Baby Checklist

3) BabyBump Pregnancy Free

4) Mom 2 Be Pregnancy Tracker

5) My Pregnancy

You don’t need that many as most of the sites will give more or less the same info and I also found youtube to be very resourceful when it comes to information about pregnancy. Mostly every night, I spend time doing some research via youtube. I watch pregnancy vlog and check out others ultrasound. To the point of watching giving birth videos.. Yes, anyway I would suggest for you not to watch giving birth videos if you have a weak heart like me.

Like seriously, it gave me like a lil panic attack. I start feeling scared as I don’t know how to face giving birth experience. I hope mine will be bearable. I also heard lots of stories from friends and family members about their experience and those who they know off. Hurm.. Wondering how my experiences will be like? Keep on praying, I will try my very best to endure all the pain as long as my baby is healthy brought into the world. Please give me the strength Allah.

NARS Mascara Review - Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara & Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara

Mar 19, 2014

NARS Mascara

Olla everyone, today I would like to share with you about 2 mascara by NARS. Yes.. NARS!! I dont know about you but I automatically have this rush of excitement when ever it comes to NARS. Great thanks to many beauty gurus and junkie all over the net that been raving about NARS. Last time, NARS is one of those brand that I can only hear or know about but quite challenging to have my hands on it, because they do not have a flagship in Malaysia. Days by days, time goes by all I can do it just dream that one day NARS will come to Malaysia.

Okay, I got it. Some said why dont you just buy online? The thing NARS is like a blind date to me. I dont mind buying other brands online from overseas market if I have physically encountered with it before. For make up, I need to hold it in my hands, test it swatch it then only buy it. Lets be frank, their price range is considered premium to my wallet, so for that I need to make sure on my decisions on what I am going to splurge on. Which is why the day when they announced that NARS is finally come to Malaysia, I am like.. “is this for real?”  so happy!

Many have been raving about their blusher “orgasm”. Well today, I am going to share with you about their mascaras instead. First is the Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara the other one is the  Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara. You may use each separately or combine it for greater effect.

Before we go into it further, lets check out their brushes closely. Both mascara have a straight wands. The shape of straight mascara wands means they’re super easy to use, and very versatile. You can tilt them and use them at an angle to get coverage over every single lash, even very small ones or those located in the corner of your eyes. Straight wands are great for people with big eyes or lots of eyelashes, but those with smaller eyes might want to find a wand that offers more accuracy. Straight wands with big, thick bristles are great for adding volume and curl too – the fatter the brush, the further round each lash has to curl. Straight wands give natural-looking volume and length, and are the perfect option for daily wear.

Do you know that many beauty company has a wide range of different mascaras? Each claiming that their formula contains unique ingredients for thickening and lengthening our eyelashes. In my opinion honestly, a good portion of the effect mascara has on our eyes comes down to the wand, or brush.

Mascara wands and brushes are equally as important as the formula itself, and since different shaped and sized wands serve different and specific purposes, it’s really important to choose the right one for your eyelashes and needs. As you can see above, the lengthening mascara have a rubber bristled brush shape while the volumizing have a thick honeycomb brush. Maybe I’ll share more about type of brushes and wands in the market next time, as today we going to focus more on these two mascaras instead.

Both products were made is USA contained 6g and currently retailing at RM95 each.

I found out that both mascara enriched with Vitamin E and Macadamia Nut Oil. Many of you have known that macadamia oil is highly nutritious, which contains great sources of calcium, vitamin B complex, vitamin E, proteins, phosphorus and iron and contains 80% mono saturated fat.

By infusing macadamia nut oil in to mascaras, it helps protect the lashes. The high absorption and deep penetration of the lashes means it will obtained a  proper moisture they need to stay healthy. The vitamin E contained in the macadamia oil helps lashes to soften and rejuvenate. The proteins help to strengthen and promote healthy lashes.

As for my personal experience, honestly as a beauty blogger I tried tons and tons of mascara both high end and the drugstore brands. So my take? I like the fact that NARS holds what it claimed. The lengthening mascara does give a lengthening effect and the volumizing mascara do make my lashes look dramatic with just 1 coat. Some other brands which claim the same effect, need me to apply at least 2 coats to achieve the look.

I like the formula, as I found it dry quite fast and the brush does not make my lashes clump. Which is very important to me. I dont like clumped lashes at all.Okay who does anyway right? haha.. I like when both mascara were combined. I used the lengthening first then add up with volumizing. You can see the combination result as per below picture. It makes me look like I am wearing fake lashes. The thing is it is way more comfortable than wearing fake lashes and you dont have to worry that your fake lashes will fall or something like that.

Try it for yourself and have fun! *wink wink*

The Crescent Online Shop - Islamic Shopping Hub

Mar 17, 2014

Olla everyone! Today I would like to share with you about The Crescent. Have your heard about it? It is actually an online shop with a twist. It is not just a portal where you buy products… It is more than that, you can get life tips, health tips as well as spiritual guidance all at one site. To me this is something new, as I normally go and purchase things that tickle my fancy. By providing more materials it is engaging consumers and I found it a good way of dakwah.
The Quran instructs believers to: "Invite (all) to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious. For your Lord knows best who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance" (16:125).
The goal of dakwah, then, is merely to share information, to invite others towards a better understanding. Glad that The Crescent input effort on this. If you check out their website, you can see they have categories such as fashion, lifestyle, wellness and spiritual. I spend time reading the lifestyle section where they shared about fruit infused water and I found it very interesting.

As I wonder around, I saw lots of other section and cant help but to do some browsing. found out that they are having PINK WEEK. Yeay!! All pink items are 20% Woot wooot!! I cant wait further went to scout for pinky deal. Hurry up as the deal is going to end by 23 March 2014

They have lots of choices, and I come down to these 3 options. Cant make up my mind. Shall I go for the Sooka Scaft? or Hoodie or the the blusher by SimplySiti? Hurm.. Never tried SimplySiti before but those 2 hijab are very attractive tooo… Gosh, how to make up my mind?

Ta…da…… I found out they have compared option.. peewit! This is really helping when you are as stuck as me in terms of making purchasing decisions. I like this feature alot. I saw this feature before for electronic online shop but I found it very helpful to have this on a shopping website as well. It helps to narrow down your choices and helps you to compare your choices more effectively. Thumbs up for this!
P/s: Do you know that delivery will be FREE for all orders over RM 78?

I also found that the registration process is simple and easy. I like that it is very straight forward and there are not so many steps involve. If you are a new user, all you need to do is just register, input your name, email and address and you are good to go. Once you completed the registration you will get an email from The Crescent just like the one I got above.

What makes The Crescent different from others is that, I found out that they have a unique option to perform your payment. I mean, it is normal to have a Visa/Mastercard payment option but it catch my attention when I saw the Aircash option. Being a curious lady, I wen to check out what is this aircash thingy? Not bad, you may also pay using your credit. Just incase you are interested, you can sign up for Celcom Aircash by dialling *133# on your Celcom number.

Have fun shopping, thank you for spending your time reading my post. Hope that you will find this post helpful and Have an awesome day ahead!

Olive & Tebe - Extra Virgin Olive Oil Shampoo & Conditioner from theSkintopic (Review)

Mar 12, 2014

Olla ladies, today I would like to share with you about this Olive & Tebe range by theSkintopic. When I said olive what come to your mind? Do you know that the olive oil was first found in Asia almost 3000 years back? Olive oil have numerous benefits but today let’s focus on what it can do for your hair.

The fatty acids that olive oil is made up of will coat the shaft of your hair, helping to keep it healthy and protected. Using hair dye, flat irons and even using hair dryers can damage the outer layer of your hair. I am wearing Hijab but I do dye my hair sometime and blow it dry most of the time at home. The this is Olive oil will coat the damaged outer layers of your hair, giving them a sleeker, smoother, and healthier appearance.

This is not a new information but hair care products are full of chemicals, which actually can damage your hair more in the long run. Using a high quality olive oil especially the virgin olive oil as a hair treatment will give your hair back its health appearance, naturally. By using a high quality olive oil means that you will be using olive oil that is pure, with no impurities, which is the best that your hair deserves.

It is always good to incorporate natural goodness into product. When it comes in a bottle it is easier to use. Especially now that I am heavily pregnant, I am extra cautious on what product I choose to use.

Have you ever looked at the back of any bottle of conditioner or shampoo? There are ingredients that you cannot pronounce let alone identify. We are exposed to enough chemicals daily and we just increase our exposure to them when using conditioners and hair care products. Which is why I am very happy when I found out that this Olive & Tebe range from theSkintopic are not tested on animals, free from mineral oils, parabens, no artificial colourant, no silicones and no animal products.

As for personal experience using the product, I like the fact that it makes my hair felt smooth and airy. It does provide quite handsome amount of foams. That my favourite part of using shampoo. I need it to foam and felt insecure if it does not give me bubbles. The smell is very natural, not to strong and very greenish.. I am not good at describing smell but this range reminds me of the smell of leaves once the rain stop. Do you know that smell?? Yes, it smell just like that.

I must say the packaging is not something that I would normally go for. I have to be honest here, I have this issue of tendency to go for cute packaging and stuff but now I have to be more careful. I need to take time to really check beyond the packaging.

As for the price range shampoo costing RM101 for 250ml and the conditioner cost RM 101 for 150ml. For more info do check out their website and their flagship store.
