Olla everyone!

Today I would like to share with you about 2 product by Bunga Tanjung. Have you heard of it before? I bet many of you do, this product has been in the market since 1970’s amazing right? I remembered my mum use this product when I was a kid, as I grew up it is one of the first body scrub that I have tried. This product is very familiar especially if you love herb based products.

Last time, I remembered they came in paper cover and there is like big sachet inside make out of white plastic, well now they change the packaging and I found it great since the paper cover that they had last time make it abit challenging to place it in your bathroom. Glad that they improvise Smile

Lets talk about the first product (the signature product for over 40 years!) it is Bedak Berubat Bunga Tangjung. you may check out below on what is written at the back of the packaging.

What I love about this product is that, it is so natural it is safe to be used for women during confinement and guess what it may also be used for baby skin. I love to use this product to scrub my body.

Since I am also in the 3rd week of my confinement, found that this product is effective to remove the pigmentation I that I’ve develop during my pregnancy. The colour of my pigmentation reduced and it does a great job at removing dead skin. All thanks to their combination of herbal ingredients such as rice powder, tumeric powder, skin of rambai tree trunk and other herbal ingredients which are good for your skin.

The smell of the product reminds me of my herbal tea! It makes me “berangan” that I am a beautiful traditional asian princess while enjoying my beauty routines… (Perasanya..)

As you can see in two picture above, the first shows the texture of the product once. All you need to do is just mix it with some water and you will get a paste like the second picture. You can always adjust the thickness of the paste to your liking by adding more powder or more water.

I like my paste to be abit watery when applying at sensitive area like my tummy and thigh. As for other parts that need more scrubbing such as my elbow, knee and so on.. I like my paste to be slightly thicker. P/s: you may also use this paste as mask and you will notice that it makes your skin more radiant.

Lets talk about the second product, it is one of the latest product by Bunga Tanjung. It is called SKRUB MUKA HERBA TRADITIONAL. This second product is actually innovated from the signature powder. This product is ready to use as you do not need to mix it with water anymore. As you can see in the pictures above, all you need to do is just squeeze and it is ready to be use.

I personally found that this product herbal smell is creamy and milder compared to the powder version. For those who prefer milder scent then this second product is for you. I have been using it on my face as mask and scrub.

2014-06-01 11.15.22

Didnt I told you that both products are super affordable?? The powder currently retailing at RM2.50 per pack and if you buy online the minimum purchase is 2 sachets so costing only RM5(yes, RM5 for a nice herbal scrub!) and the tube cost RM 15.90 each. I love it when good product were sold at affordable price. So that many people out there able to experience it as well Smile  You can easily find their products at kedai2 jamu/herbal nationwide or you can always get it from Mydin.

Thank you for reading my post and hope that you have an awesome day today!

Olla everyone!

Today I would like to share with you about this new range that going to be available in store pretty soon by June 2014. It is non-other than REVLON COLORSTAY SHADOW LINKS. I was given 6 pcs to review and since it is super cute on the day I opened the parcel, gave my mum in law one of the shadow in Candy.

I got 5 more colours to play around with and they are Khaki, Cocoa, Bone, Lime and Blush. Glad that I got those mostly in natural shade as it can be more versatile to play with. I normally wont go for green or lime kinda shadow but it is quite fun to be experimental once in a while.

What make this eye shadow special?

You may mix and match your favorite shades to create your own customized palette. That’s one of the fun part of having this eye shadow. The packaging allow it to be snapped to each other to create your own palette. Handy if you going to vacation of for touch up at work. You can just bring your favourite colour in a super cute size.

This REVLON COLORSTAY SHADOW LINKS come in 30 colours in a variety of finishes from matte to sparkle.Check out below for the full range of the available selections

As for my experience, I like the fact that it is very affordable RM 13.90 each. I like the flexibility, sometime when purchasing eye shadow.. I end up buying whole palette (no choice) but only few colours that I am interested with. So, it is such a waste to spend a chuck of money for a palette. With this REVLON COLORSTAY SHADOW LINKS, I’ll get to pick and pay for the colours that I really wanted. I tried to use the colour Cocoa to fill in my eyebrows. It is matte and lasts, and is somewhat blendable. It looks more natural then eye brow pencils and matches my eyebrow's colour perfectly. I think these shadows are a great alternative to eyebrow pencils. The pigmentation is medium compared to the other eye shadows I tried. The only con is that I found it to be a lil chalky in terms of texture and finishing. This can be fixed by wearing lil bit of eye primer so no big deal on that.

Thank you for reading my post, don’t forget to visit Watson near you in couple of days as it will be available from June 2014 onwards!

Downy Parfum Collection (Happiness)

May 24, 2014

Olla everyone Smile

Siapa suka wangi-wangi angkat tangan! Hehe.. I will be one of the first to raise my hand as well.. hahaha.. Today, I am on my 11th day on confinement. So fast right? Anyway, being asian we are preached and trained to follow lots and lots of “pantang” things not to do, things not to eat for minimum 45 days after giving birth (some do it up till 100 days)

During this “pantang” duration, I cant wash my hair (kaw kaw busuk dah ni) I cant take cold shower, forget about fruity or floral smelling body products.. All I can enjoy is my herbal bath. herbal scrub, herbal this herbal that… Basically, I smells like a walking herbal sensei shop or maybe jamu shop. KESIAN nyer my hubby kena bau this sticky woman daily.. hahaha

Good news is that, I was given a bottle of this Downy for review and so glad it came at the right timing! hahaha.. It is the Parfum Collection (this stinky woman need her dose of Parfum badly) YES! IF my body cant smell nice (for now but still comel Smile with tongue out), then let my baju smell nice instead hahaha…

Taaa.. taddaaa.. It is Happiness in a bottle indeed. There are 4 types in this collection which are  Mystique, Passion, Innocence and Happiness. Funky name huh? Each bottle contained around 370ml and currently retailing at RM 5.85 for 370ml, RM 10.90 for 900ml and RM 20.90 for 1.8 litre.

So what makes this Downy range special than others? It have the ability to “switch” scent each time your clothes is being rub. Sounds too good to be true? Well, I was abit sceptical at first until I experience it myself.

I am soooo going to grab all other types in this range and maybe use it on rotate based on my mood. I am very interested about the black bottled range named Mystique. Wondering how does mystique smells.. hurmmm..

Check out my happy hubby as the wife da bau wangi pakai baju tukar2 bau Smile Thank you for your time reading my post. Have your tried it yet? What do you think? Did you notice the smell changing each time?

Dutch Lady - Jr. NBA Programme

May 20, 2014

Olla everyone!

Today I would like to share with you about this Jr. NBA Program by Dutch Lady Malaysia. Do you know what it is? Jr, NBA is the league’s international youth development programme that promotes basketball participation and an active lifestyle among children through camps, clinics, and NBA Cares Activities. Participants are trained in the fundamentals of basketball and learn the importance of the Jr. NBA core values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude, and Respect (S.T.A.R).

In celebration of World Milk Day this year, Dutch Lady Malaysia will go beyond spreading the goodness of milk with a campaign that helps Malaysian children adopt an active and healthy lifestyle.

Aptly named Drink.Move.Be Strong, the campaign essentially encourages children to drink one glass of milk a day and spend one hour a day on outdoor exercise.Putting the campaign into action, Dutch Lady Malaysia will present the first Jr. NBA programme in Malaysia. Under its Drink.Move.Be Strong campaign, the NBA’s international youth development programme will serve as a vehicle to promote physical activity through basketball participation.

Jr. NBA Malaysia 2014 presented by Dutch Lady Malaysia will conduct a series of exciting basketball clinics and camps to get children to be active and drink milk. It will officially launch on 31 May, 2014, a day before World Milk Day (on 1 June, 2014) at Stadium MABA, Kuala Lumpur.

Participation in Jr. NBA Malaysia 2014 presented by Dutch Lady Malaysia is free and open to boys and girls between five and 14 years old. There are four stages to the programme, starting with a series of clinics for coaches and children in the first. The sole coaches clinic will be held on 31 May at Stadium MABA; and a series of open clinics for kids will follow starting with a clinic at Sekolah Wawasan, USJ15 on 1 June.

In the final stage, the Jr. NBA Malaysia All-Stars will be provided with a unique, overseas NBA Experience trip and the opportunity to play against a counterpart team from another country later in the year.

In addition to Dutch Lady Malaysia, Spalding will serve as the supporting partner of Jr. NBA Malaysia. Astro is the Official NBA Broadcaster. The event is also supported by the Westports Malaysia Dragons.

Part 5 – Giving Birth Experience

May 17, 2014

Today, I am on the fourth day of my confinement. Decided to write and share about my giving birth experience as soon as possible since everything is still fresh in my mind. Our baby Sofea Eliza binti Johan Ariff is born at 7.07pm on the 14.05.2014. To be completely honest, it is nothing like I ever imagine at all.

2014-05-16 15.31.57

I was given earlier MC by doctor since I had the PUPP so I spend my time resting and waiting anxiously for the “sign” of giving birth. So, what happen was on the 13th May 2014 (happen to be Wesak Day and my hubby went for some finance conference at Royal Chulan luckily bro is at home.. thank goodnes!) Anyway, the first sign shows at around 6pm where I noticed a clear jelly type of mucus super thick came out of my private part. Like quite alot. My hubby took the picture of the stuff but I decided not to post it up since it is gross ( if you are currently pregnant and curious to know how does it look like, do email or pm me at my fan page.. I am willing to share just incase it would help you out).

I didnt feel any pain what so ever when the mucus came out. Doc do informed us to come to hospital if there is sign. I didnt know it was a sign ( so blur gosh!) and we end up calling my mum in laws and googling what is that. My hubby even contacted his friends to find out what is that. We were told it was a mucus plug.

From readings, I found out that this plug is formed in the cervical canal and provides protection against bacteria entering the uterus. A pregnant woman usually looses this plug at "term" (anytime between 37-42 weeks) or during labour. When you loose your mucous plug it means the the cervix is ripening (ie softening, dilating, thinning) to some degree to allow it to pass. Which means it is near!! you going to see your baby anytime soon.

So ya after that, my hubby help feed me some food ( I might need lots of energy of giving birth later) and give me a bath shampoo my hair (since during confinement I wont allowed to wash my hair.. ya…. tell me about it). Once done sudah comel, it is around 8pm when I reach the hospital. At that moment I only felt a mild contraction. I can still walk talk and make jokes.

As I reached, we were lead to labour room. Only husband is allowed to accompany. As I go in, I was given the patient’s uniform to change and then lay on the bed. I was in pain so I dont really remember all the details. What I do remember was device were put on my tummy to check baby heart beat, my heart beat as well as the contraction.

At first contraction painful but bearable that is around 9pm –10pm. Then I was given with a medicine (liquid form) into my buttocks. This medicine were given to ensure that I had bowel movement and to remove all the food in my intestine. The main reason of this is so that it wont “interfere” during the actual labour session.

2014-05-13 21.41.11

At that time, my opening was 3cm. Doc said it have to be 10cm before we could proceed for normal birth. We have to wait. So, we waited.

As we waited, time pass. To me every minute pass SUPER slow as the contraction pain increasing like nobody business. Ater few hours around 2am in the morning, my opening was checked again and it shows 4cm opening. Still long way to go. Yes, we have to wait again.

I cant bear the pain anymore, nurse gave me 3 pain killer option. Either gas, spinal injection or epidural. I decided to go for spinal injection. Thank you ALLAH. Pain felt slightly lesser (didnt go away completely) and it is bearable. do bear in mind that my tolerance level for pain is considered high. At this time I have spent around 10 hours in contraction pain since I was given with the injection at 6am.

2014-05-14 07.00.50

The opening still shows 4cm, OMG when will you increase??? When the morning came at around 9am my OB came and check my opening and consult me with my option. She told me, that we going to wait few more hours if I still want to try natural birth. They going to start inducing me to increase the contraction hoping that it will help increase the size of the opening.

At first dosage given was 3ml then increased gradually until 48ml. OMG it is the most painful experience ever that I dont know how to explain the pain to others. You have to experience it to understand how it felt. I cant find a right word to describe it  T.T

2014-05-14 15.43.31

It is pass lunchtime and I was still in pain and no improvement on the opening. Then around 3pm my water broke. Like a gushhhhhh of water just came out automatically. Banjir like nobody business. I am like a leaking tank at that time.

To cut the story short, by 6pm my opening is still 4cm. Doc said one of the main reason is because my baby is big and she cant enter the “laluan”. So after nearly 23 hours of contraction pain, we had no other option but to go for caesarean.

I was prepared for the Operation theather and my contraction is super intense at the moment. All I could remember was, I was escorted to the  room then doc explain to me the procedure and I  need to sign some concerned doc.

In the labour room, I was injected with and half of my body turn out to be numb. Thank goodnes!! I honestly cant stand the pain of the contraction anymore. My hubby was at my side the whole time. I am really thankful to have him as my husband. I cant believe that he was in the operation room during the procedure to give support.

After awhile, I heard baby scream and I can see my baby right after that. Nurse clean her and put her head close to mine. I am still lying on the operation bed but it was the most magical moment ever. I will remember and cherish it forever. So, that is the summary of my giving birth experience! Smile

The next day our friends and family come and visit Baby Sofea, mummy and daddy! It is a very happy day for us. We glad to share the happiness with our support group Smile Thank you to everyone who came and visit us.Not forgetting those who whatsapp, message, call, inbox to congratulate. We appreciate it so much! Thank you for being so kind to us.

I did my whole pregnancy consultation at Tropicana Medical Center with  Dr. Nurhazinat Yunus. She is Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Fertility Specialist at the hospital. She is very kind, patience and I have good experience having my pregnancy journey monitored by her. Would recommend her if you would like to opt for Tropicana Hospital Smile plus the hospital have my medical records starting from my miscarriage incident last year. We decided to opt for Tropicana since it is also the nearest hospital to our home and living in kota damansara (jam 24 hours)  I dont want to give birth in the car T.T if we opt for further hospital that might be one of the option hahaha.. actually I dont mind to go to gov hospital.. okay I do heard of some not so nice experience at gov hospital but to me it depends because I do heard of those who had a nice experience there as well.
