Awesome Breakfast Combo Chia Seed and Muesli

How are you today? Hope you are having an awesome day so far. Today, I would like to host a giveaway.. Woot woot! But before that let me share more about the yummy products k?

Have you heard of Muesli? Well, Muesli is actually a mixture of cereals (especially rolled oats), dried fruit, and nuts, typically eaten with milk at breakfast. Nyum nyum! Even typing about it is making me hungry haha..

So, what’s really the fuss about Muesli? Honestly, every health conscious person that I met will ask me to add muesli to my diet mainly for weight loss. But weight loss is not the only main benefit. It is actually a great fitness food as well.

First off, according to experts muesli has lesser calories than a granola bar, which is full of sugar. It is better than plain cornflakes and is also available in low sugar variants with zero or naturally occurring sugars.

Because Muesli contain a mixture of oats, nuts and seeds, muesli offers substances such as healthful lignans, antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. Lignans are associated with medicinal use against breast, prostate, colon and ovarian cancer. Antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids are useful for fighting heart disease. More reason to consume huh?

What I personally love about this Gourmet Muesli is that because it contain 40% of fruits, nuts and seed. You know how hard and boring it is to be taking plain oat right? Hahaha Because it is yummier and healthier option, I also like to snack on it. Instead of sinful snack, let’s switch to muesli instead.

The next product that I am going to giveaway is this pack of Chia Seed. I bet many of you heard about Chia seed before. I heard about this super food quite sometime ago, but didn't really get the change to try it. Then I remembered going to an event and they serve honey lemon chia seed drink and I love the texture alot! haha

Chia seed it is actually a very famous superfood. Speaking about it, Chia seeds were an important food for the Aztecs and Mayans back in the day.They prized them for their ability to provide sustainable energy… in fact, “chia” is the ancient Mayan word for “strength.”

Only in the past few years, that health consious people around the world raving about its benefit. If you are wondering how it looks like, check out below :-

The dry version look like any other seed, but when it is submerged into water it will soak as much water and create a gelatin like exterior leaving the seed inside. Hurm.. you know ‘biji selasih’ it actually look almost like that. If you put it in water for overnight it will become even more gelatin like. More like a pudding. But I like to just soak it in 30 minutes or so. I prefer runny texture instead.

Wonder how Chia Seed claimed as super food? Even an ounce of it is jam packed with goodness.  1 ounce (28 grams) serving of chia seeds contains :

· Fiber: 11 grams.

· Protein: 4 grams.

· Fat: 9 grams (5 of which are Omega-3s).

· Calcium: 18% of the RDA.

· Manganese: 30% of the RDA.

· Magnesium: 30% of the RDA.

· Phosphorus: 27% of the RDA.

· They also contain a decent amount of Zinc, Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Potassium, Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) and Vitamin B2.

The easiest way to increase fiber intake is to increase your consumption of plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and unprocessed grains. Just one ounce of chia seeds provides 10 grams of fiber, almost half the daily recommendation for a woman over 50.

So how exactly you eat Chia seed? You can eat them raw or cooked. Sprinkle chia seeds on cereal, yogurt, oatmeal or smoothies. Add them to baked goods like bread and muffins. I like to mix it with some water and put in some fruits to make a nice infused drinks. Sometime I cut the fruits in bigger chunk so it double up as snack like the one I did below

  8. 1. The benefits of consuming Chia seeds includes fighting belly fats and it's super high in fibre + really good in Omega-3. It's good when you submerge it in water for the gelatin-ish taste hahaha sedap that way!

    2. The benefits of having Muesli are that it is rich in insoluble and soluble fiber, both of which helps to reduce the cholesterol. It's also rich in lignans, antioxidants and omega-3! Have you tried to soak it overnight in milk and Chia seeds? It's really delicious, super healthy for a breakfast on-the-go! :)
