DIY Steamboat Recipe
Last few days, my friends and I had a steamboat session at Katherine’s house and it was so much fun! Actually this the 3 rd time I came to her house for makan2 session. This time around I am thinking that since we had so much fun having the steamboat session why not I share the recipe and maybe you can organise it with your friends too!
It is very simple and interactive session and a great idea to hang out with friends. Allow me to share with you what are the ingredients we used. To make the soup, what we did was just boil chicken stock for the chicken soup and for the tom yam soup we just add in the tom yam paste.
For the dippings, we just use cili padi and then pour soy sauce. As for the second dipping, we used a little bit of vegetable oil mixed with chopped cili padi and daun ketumbar. You may also add a bit of onions and asam limau to give it more kick.
Mouth watering isnt it? The best of the day was, when we were like preparing the stuff then suddenly it was raining!! OMG, such a suitable weather to enjoy steamboat together. We had so much fun chit chatting then makan2.. It have been awhile since we got together. We should do this more often!!
This is tong shui (I hope I spelled it right) home made by by friend Poi Yee. Canggih tak? It tasted so yummy! It is actually a nice desserts or drinks it tasted like lai chi kang. I was trying to get the recipe from Poi Yee but I forgotten half of the name of the ingredients. I just remember buah mata kucing and white fungus hahaha..
To end this post, I would like to share our pictures! and thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed reading this post.

ReplyDeletea ah.. simple celup2 tapi sedap :) weee! ada geng laaa
DeleteBanyaknya ingredients dia, my daughter's last birthday we did steamboat too. So happen my late father in law received this steamboat + grill set, so we just decided to give it a try. One thing about steamboat ingredients must be fresh baru sedap. Oh by the way if you want to get the ingredients for Lin Chi Kang senang je, just go to any chinese medicine shop and say you nak beli ingredients for Lin Chi Kang, than they'll mix all the herbs for you. But if you want to put more dry longan, i suggest you buy the pre-pack dry longan, than next time if you want to boil, you can put more in.
ReplyDeleteThe other item is the dried white fungus, which you normally have to buy it pre-packed too. It's cooling so klu mcm kita preggy ni, badan panas. In Shaa Allah it'll help to cool down the body... ^_^
seronok kan sekali sekala buat steambot :) itu la betul cakap you memang kena yg fresh baru sedap.. Thanks tau share pasal bole pergi then tanya pasal nak buat Lin Chi Kang... mase kawan lliy cakpa tu illy lupe ingat sikit jer.. it is nice to know they all bole mix all the herbs for us :)
