When it comes to my baby skincare, I will try my best to use product that are gentle yet provide the most comfort and care. I mean it is a well-known fact that baby’s skin are delicate. Before I jump into reviewing each product that I used, allow me to share my top main reasons.
Reason 1 : Scientifically proven
Yes, Pigeon invested a lot in making sure their product are back up by science instead of hearsay or assumptions. When they take their product seriously, it gave me some assurance. Scientist behind the brand formulated Natulayer TM which is a trademarked formula. If you are wondering, Natulayer TM able to provide a double layer of protection and moisturization for your baby’s skin. The formulation encourage the stimulation of Vernix. Vernix is a waxy protective moisturizing layer which can be found naturally on newborn babies. While doing so, it also encourage the formation of Ceramide (a moisture-capturing lipids) this will help to hyrated and nourished the skin and resulting to skin to be supple.
Reason 2 : Balanced PH
During the first few weeks of life, a baby's skin has a higher pH of between 6.5 and 5.5. Which is why it is not advisable to use just any kind of soap on your baby skin so it wont disturb the pH. Pigeon Newborn Pure range knows this (ofcoz they are know they are the professional here) and they ensure that the baby skincare range maintain the skin’s protective layer by making sure that the pH level is well balanced.
Reason 3 : Dermatologically tested and Manufactured using the Highest Quality Standards
Knowing that Pigeon goes all the way to ensure that their product goes to meticulous clinical test, it gave me an assurance that they have a strong dedication on releasing only the best. Also, I know that they will try their very best to work with scientist to make sure that the product are safe to be used on baby’s skin. Apart from that I felt a sense of relieve as I know that the products are manufacted using the highest quality standards.
Reason 4 : Free from Hash Chemicals & Artificial Colouring
Since baby’s skin is very delicate, I would try my best to pick products that are free from harsh chemicals. Pigeon Newborn Pure range is completely free from Paraben, Formaldehyde, Alcohol and the rest of the ingridients that may lead to skin irritation expecially if your baby’s skin is sensitive.
Reason 5 : Smell Nice (not overpowering) and Easily Accessible.
After all, you might be kissing your baby around million times a day if you could. So, it is quite important for me to pick products that smell nice. On top of that, I need the product to be easily accessible so it is easier to replenish when needed. Pigeon Newborn Pure range can be found offline and online, which is a huge plus point. They can be found in Parkson, Isetan, and on the web at Lazada, Shopee and Motherhood.com.my.
Now with that being mentioned, shall we go take a closer look of each products?
Let’s start with Pigeon Newborn Pure Purifying Body Wash. First off, I have to say that I totally prefer a pump diffuser instead of the split cap. It makes it more efficient to dispense the product expecially when you need to have all your focus on your baby during bath time. My baby Zandria love her bath/shower a lot. Maybe because it is very familiar to them as they spend more than 9 months surrounded by liquid in the womb. I love the light smell of the product it give like a heart warming sensation everytime I smell it. The product is transparent in colour which is nice it means that it do not contain unnecessary colour pigments. My daughter did not face any irritation after using the product so it good. A bottle contained 200ml and retail at RM59.00
the second product is this Nourishing Shampoo. If you are wondering, it is formulated with gentle enough that it wont sting your cutie eyes and will not cause them to tear. The Natulayer TM formula mimic baby’s own natural moisturizing skin’s fatty layer. This provide a double layer of protection and moisturization that are great to nourish and protect baby’s scalp and hair. Also, I dont have to worry about harsh chemical penetrate into my baby’s scalp. The product lathers well without being tooo foamy. It is also easy to rinse off and my baby hair smell so good after applications. More reason to kiss her all over haha.. This Nourishing Shampoo can be obtained at RM55.00 for a generous 200ml.
I wish to share with you about the Pigeon Newborn Pure Moisturizing Lotion. However, I accidently left it at one of the hotel during my recent staycation. What a bummer huh? So, no picture of the product here. However, I would love to share with you that the lotion glide like a butter on my baby’s skin. It absorp almost instantly and is not sticky. I like to personally try my baby product before letting her use (you know just to try out LOL) and happy to share I dont feel any stickyness. Plus, my baby’s skin turn out so supple after every application.
Moving on, I would like to also introduce you to this Protective Cream. At first I thought it is a nappy cream hahaha. Wrong! It is actually non-sticky cream designed for extra protection and hydration for around lips, elbows, knees and other tend to be dried areas. I think it would be very useful if you are planning to travel to cold and dry country. It will definately aid solving chapped and dried skin. This cream can also be used for face, hand and body. Just an honest confession, I didnt use this cream as much as the product that I am going to share with you shortly. If you are interested, you can get this cream at RM49.00 for 50ml and it comes in a tube.
This last product that I am going to share is my HOLY GRAIL. I bet your baby will love this. This Calming Oil is soo soothing, nourishing that we just have to use it every single night. As a working mum, the only time that I get to really spend time with my baby is during dinner, playtime and also during her bed time routine. After her shower/bath, I will make sure she enjoy a massage before putting on her clothes and combing her hair. Yes, baby do need massage (they have such a hard life huh?) During massage it is like our special one on one session where the attention totally goes to her. I think she enjoys it. I dont blame her, even I dont mind getting a massage every single day before going to sleep LOL.
I noticed my baby sleep faster and easier evertime after I gave a massage using this Calming Oil. Most likely because she going to a sleep transition. She felt clean after the warm bath/shower, and then ushered to a calm mode during the massage so it is very easy for her to fall asleep. If your baby is giving a fit before going to sleep ( I know some baby/kids do, because her big sister used to start a war with me and her dad right before bed time) try this massage thing. I noticed both of my kids goes to sleep earlier and easier when I give them a massage before going to sleep. Hopefully it helps you too!
We are at the end of this post. Thank you so much for reading it up. I hope you find it helpful somehow. Till next blogpost, dont forget to take it easy and smile!
